I have worked in a sales company for a while and I have always had to send the invoice and mail it off or deliver it. I have just started wondering why we just don’t use online invoicing or some sort of invoicing system, because this old school way is wasting valuable resources that the company could use elsewhere.
In an online world companies need to move to the sphere of the internet. It is the only way that companies can be taken to the next level. We can see that less and less is being done offline and more is being done I the online field. I have been pushing for social media at my job, but they are stalling. This is a bad you cannot put this off, Social media is a gateway to online marketing and is key to getting the word out there. Millions of people around the world spend hours and hours a day on social media platforms and businesses would be fools not to jump on board.
Facebook yes it would be good to set up a fan page an post specials or interact with clients offer competitions do spread the word and make it all worthwhile for people to visit the site.
But Twitter for me is key, it is a perfect way for some direct marketing. Once you take up a strategy of building up followers these can be used as direct customers. Twitter can be used a new form of PR as you can tweet your customers and interact on a very personal level. It is important that you tweet a lot so as to create a personal feel. It will also be helpful to be seen as an authoritative brand as people will want to follow you for this reason.
If you do not get on the Social Media bandwagon it may already be too late for you, because a company that does not adapt to changes around it is destined to fail.
