Today a lot of people will feel like the internet is about to die because of the SOPA regulations that they are planning to enforce which helps the owners of copyrighted content to get others banned for using their material. This is of course mostly intended to target piracy which we all know is a huge problem on the internet.
Digital Marketing though is quickly becoming a popular way to get your products to a wide range of potential clients. This is going to soon become the only choice for advertisers across the globe when they see the difference in ROI from TV and radio marketing compared to internet marketing. The advantages are quickly increasing when you use the internet as your primary marketing platform. Besides the fact that you can target exactly who you want to target you have much better ways to track exactly how well your campaigns are working. With the introduction of SOPA though this might all change. In my honest opinion we will see a major drop in the amount of regular internet users if this law does come into effect and I do not think it will be good for the internet at all.
It could possible be the end of the internet if it gets really bad but a lot of big brands have already disagreed with this changes including Twitter and Facebook which makes me think that this could be laid off for a long time or even changed a lot before this plan is rolled out fully.
The Internet can do with a lot of cleaning up but I think that it needs to be done properly and I am on Twitter and Facebooks side regarding the SOPA laws. Digital Marketing services will still be a popular thing for the years to come.
